Visiting the shop
Is there parking?
Street parking is available on Main Street or 6th Street.
Are you accessible for wheelchairs and strollers?
Yes, our space is on the first floor and accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Our building also features a convenient elevator for access to second-floor shops.
Are kids welcome?
Yes! We have a wonderful children’s area, and dedicated, cozy reading spaces especially for the little ones.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, but we kindly ask that dogs be leashed at all times. As always, please clean up after your furry friends.
Buying and ordering
Can you order a book you don't have in stock?
Yes, if it’s something we don’t have on our shelves, we can get nearly any title for you. We do ask for prepayment for special orders, and most special orders are available for pickup at the shop within a week.
Do you buy or sell used books, or take trade-ins?
No, we currently only sell new books. We do not offer trade-ins or buy-backs.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available for purchase in-store.
What payment methods do you take?
Cash, credit/debit card, or gift card.
Can I order online and pick up in store?
Not currently — our online fulfillment through Bookshop.org conveniently ships directly to your home. If you’d like us to order or hold a title for you to pick up in-store, give us a call or text.
What's your return policy?
We accept returns within 10 days with receipt for items in new condition only. Refunds are issued as store credit. Signed editions, special orders, deluxe/collector’s copies, and clearance items are final sale. We reserve the right to refuse any returns due to item condition or damage.
Events and community
How do I join a book club?
We recommend guests RSVP to book clubs through our events page, so we can prepare for the appropriate number of guests. You can also register in-store. However, if you need to drop in, we’ll always make you feel welcome.
Are book clubs free to join?
Most of our book clubs are free to join. We do ask that you purchase your book through us, to help support our store and allow us to host these free events. We do offer paid events from time to time to cover the cost of supplies (e.g., watercolor workshops).
What ages is story time for?
Our storytimes are geared towards 8 and under, but we carry titles for every age, so feel free to bring the whole family!
Can I host my own book club, Bible study, or private event?
Yes! Please reach out to us to discuss your event. We do charge a room fee for certain private events, but are happy to discuss details regarding your specific needs.
Do you host author events, and how would an author get in touch?
Yes, you can find author events on our events page. If you’re an author interested in joining us for an event, please reach out to us.
About the shop
What kinds of books do you specialize in?
We carry a wide selection of titles across all ages and genres. We have a wide selection of children’s, young adult, fiction, non-fiction, and religious/faith-based titles. We pride ourselves on having something for everyone from timeless classics to the newest releases.
Are you a chain?
No, we are a local family-owned independent bookstore. Our owners were born and raised in the area and love being able to serve the Auburn community.
Do you sell anything other than books?
Yes! We sell an assortment of small gifts, from bookmarks to apparel, from blankets to story-themed stuffed animals.
Do you provide school, teacher, or church discounts?
We provide discounts for bulk purchases. Discounts vary by title and availability but we would love to work with you. Please reach out to us to discuss with a member of our staff.
